ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 25th

SUNDAY SCHOOL-PRAYER TIME

For one more month we will be having a corporate prayer time in the fellowship hall during the Sunday School hour. The date of this opportunity will be August 22nd. It will involve all adult S.S. classes and anyone else who would like to join us for prayer.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY

The ladies Bible study will not meet tonight, but will resume on August 1st. We will discuss the fourth chapter in the book "Satisfy My Thirsty Soul" by Linda Dillow and will be meeting at Betty Scarbrough’s home at 6 p.m. All ladies are welcome.

UKRAINE MISSION TRIP

Harold Sprayberry, Scott Joransen, Jeffrey Agre and Sarah Clark left on Thursday, July 22 for the "Source of Life Camp" outside of Chernivtsi, Ukraine. This is a camp for unbelievers and the team will be sharing through testimonies, teaching the gospel and daily living. They will return on August 4th. Be in prayer for every aspect of this trip.

BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY

As many of you know Riverwood provides a ministry of benevolence as much as possible. This is done with both financial assistance and also from a Food Pantry located in the Fellowship Hall. This year, in respect to the times, it’s being limited to those within the church body and current funds and shelves in the pantry are quite low. Please prayerfully consider giving to this important ministry by annotating "benevolence" on your check.

ANGEL FOOD REMINDER-NEW DATES THIS MONTH

The distribution date has been changed for this month! It is Saturday, July 31st. The deadline for ordering angel food boxes for the month of July is Sunday, July 25th at midnight. All boxes must be ordered online at www.angelfoodministries.com. Don’t forget to choose Redeemer Church in Jackson as your host site. Also, under your information section PLEASE don’t forget to enter your full name in the first name field and Riverwood in the last name field. This is urgent for pick-up! Please contact Darryl or Sarah Waltman if you have any questions or need help with this process.

FELLOWSHIP MEAL IS NEXT SUNDAY …

Please make a note that next Sunday, August 1, we will enjoy our regular monthly Fellowship meal, immediately following the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Make plans to attend!

RBC-FAMILY NIGHT @ THE CLUB

The Miners have graciously invited Riverwood for several years to a family night at "The Club" in Brandon. This year it will be tonight, July 25th beginning at 6 p.m. and dinner will be provided.

CARDS FOR ANN PAINE

Ann has not been able to be an active participant with us for a long time due to being the primary care giver of her 90 year old mother who has Altzheimers. Ann has also been diagnosed with breast cancer this year. She had a birthday last week, so it could be a belated birthday card or just one of encouragement. Place it in the red box in the foyer by August 15th.

WORKERS NEEDED FOR AWANA

AWANA will be starting back on September 8th and there is a need for workers in most every area. Please begin praying about your involvement in this ministry.

PRAYER REQUESTS

* Bill and Bobbie Boggess: "We still meet in a conference room at Hotel Amarys. We pay $800 per month for three hours every Sunday afternoon . . . We need a place of our own, but for now we are waiting for some door to open. Everything we’ve tried so far has not worked . I believe spiritual warfare is going on to deny us a place of our own, so please pray."

* Kelly Rehm: Requests prayer for Summer Mission Teams from Student Ministries at Southwest Baptist University going to Russia, China, Egypt, Ecuador, Africa, Peru, India, South Dakota, and Arizona in a few weeks. He will be leading the "Extreme Asia" team to Russia – ". . . hosting several three-day VBS type camps in Altai Villages . . . hiking for eight days with several Altai families..."

* Frank Brooks: underwent chemotherapy Tuesday - Friday the first week of July, and he returned to the doctor on Thursday (7/22) to get a report for any further treatment. He is still experiencing weakness. They are so appreciative of our prayers.

* Mary Nola Kersh: had an accident in her new knee brace three weeks ago and fell in the floor. Russell helped her up, but then she fell out of her hospital bed. Thankfully she did not break any bones. Remember that she has not been able to walk in almost a year. She asks for our prayers & welcomes our calls; her # is (601-206-8992).

* Inez Stark: is now in a nursing home (Tara). Her address is C/O Carey Stark, 120 N. Marsh, Savannah GA 31410. Cell # is (601) 212-2344. Inez has completed rehab, however she still needs a wheelchair. Please pray for her. She has a better outlook on things as she adjusts to her limitations.

* Ann Paine: Her monthly checkup in July showed that her blood work was "normal" for the second month in a row. These test results brought very positive comments from Dr. Qu. This means she will not have to be tested in August; she will only receive her monthly treatment. Then in September she will have a full body "bone scan" to check for any spread of the cancer.

* Elizabeth Stewart: is back in her home, which is next door to her daughter, Janet. She does still use the walker and is very thankful for her improving health. She welcomes our phone calls; her phone number is 940-231-8597.
