ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 7th
PLEASE STAY FOR LUNCH TODAY!!
As a church family, we enjoy lunch and fellowship together on a regular basis on the first Sunday of each month. Newcomers and visitors, please stay and join us for lunch today in our Fellowship Hall, immediately following this morning’s worship service. Let one of us take you to the front of the line as an "honored guest!"
And, seniors, remember there is a special seating for you in the room off the hallway, and we want you, too, to have a place of honor at the head of the line for lunch.
LADIES BIBLE STUDY & PRAYER
The ladies meet tonight (3/7) for Bible study and prayer time at 6:00 p.m. in the home of Betty Scarbrough. They are studying the book, "Behold Your God" by Myrna Alexander on the attributes of God. All ladies are welcome to join. Please call Betty at 601-750-2546 if you would like to participate.
BRADEN TYLER - SUMMER MISSIONS
Braden Tyler will be going on a summer mission project to Salerno, Italy from May 9 to June 20 with Campus Crusade for Christ @ MSU. He truly believes the Lord is calling him to go on this mission and cannot wait to follow His calling. In order for him to serve, he needs help financially. The project support goal he needs to raise is $5,500. Your donations and prayers would be greatly appreciated. Should you feel led to contribute, additional information is available in the foyer.
YOUNGER LADIES BIBLE STUDY
The younger women of Riverwood meet together on a regular basis at the home of LaFon Burrow (134 Moss Lane, Madison) @ 6:30 p.m. for fellowship, prayer and Bible study. We will be meeting again on March 28th. This is for any woman, single or married, member or not, between 18 & 40-something. For directions, please call LaFon at 601-940-2469 or email LaFonB@aol.com.
HONORING INEZ STARK
As a family, individual or church group, we are asking you to write a card of encouragement to Inez Stark. She is still unable to transfer from bed to wheelchair & back. We would like to send this outpouring of affection and encouragement by March 14th. Please leave them in the basket in the foyer. Next month we will focus on Mary Nola Kersh and then Elizabeth Stewart.
BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY
As many of you know Riverwood provides a ministry of benevolence as much as possible. This year, in respect to the times, it’s being limited to those within the church body. Please prayerfully consider giving to this important ministry by annotating "benevolence" on your check.
UPCOMING MISSION TRIP TO THE PHILIPPINES
Jerry Clark is scheduled to travel to the "Hilltop" in Antipolo, Philippines, to speak at the Bible School Graduation, the Annual Pastors Conference, and the Alumni Reunion, April 6-16. Please pray in regards to the preparation of material for pastors and christian workers, and also for the financial & travel needs for pastors to get to the conference.
BAPTISM ON EASTER SUNDAY
We will be observing the ordinance of believer’s baptism on Easter, April 4th, as part of the Sunday morning worship service. If you or anyone in your family (children) is interested in being baptized, contact Jerry Clark to arrange an interview. Believer’s baptism carries no merit and has nothing to do with salvation, but is extremely important for every believer because it fulfills Jesus’ command to "confess Me before men". Even if salvation was years ago, and you have not confessed Him in this way, please call for participation.

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE
Contemplations on the Cross
As a prelude to Easter Sunday (April 4th) there will be a "Good Friday Service" on April 2nd here at Riverwood. It will be a time dedicated to focusing on the Cross and our Savior’s great sacrifice for our sins and salvation. The Service will facilitate a time to be sober, quiet... so to reflect and remember those difficult hours/days of abuse, torture, and the crucifixion of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
During the service there will be a special time set aside to have, and take, Communion together as a Church family during this special season. Make plans now, with your family, to attend. Nursery services will be provided. Attire should lean toward formal, the Service will begin at 7:00 p.m., and tentative location is the Fellowship Hall. |
